What’s good my music lovers! As I sit in front of this screen typing out to the world I’m trying to figure out what to share and discuss.
Now we’ve all had a rough winter and we are looking for that season change, the first sign of that is Daylight savings time (waste of time but that’s a different topic) this coming Sunday with “Spring forward”. The second sign is Winter Music Conference in Miami coming on its 30th year. I’ve had the pleasure of attending and playing some events in the past, what a great experience. During WMC Week, March 24th-29th; over 1,900 top artists and DJs from around the world perform live throughout Miami and Miami Beach. This year 390+ non-stop events go down with a relentless line-up of talent like nowhere else.
This year I’m sitting this one out (last minute change might happen) and I’m not the only one. Everyone has their reason for going or not going and one of the deal breakers is the rise of cost to visit during the Conference, not kewl. We are talking triple the price at the least with Hotels and parking. The restaurants and shops are also guilty. It shouldn’t be tolerated. Don’t get me wrong it’s a great time but you feel used at the end of the weekend. There are ways to cut cost, you just have to be creative and it wouldn’t be so bad in the end.
Many of my friends who are also my colleagues in the industry are heading down this year to do what they do well, throw a great party with some serious line-ups. I’m blessed and honored to know them, Djs, Promoters and Event Planners. There are so many events this WMC and I will not be able to showcase them all here but I will share several that should not be missed. Although the word conference is in the title, House Music lovers will have a blast. The Legends and up and coming are all in one spot to hear them perform. The Sun, Beach, sand, friends and music are all good reasons to go for some “YOU” time.
Next year I hope to attend and perform with some of my friends, all for the love of music.

This is something that is needed for this industry, with many clocked hours, travel and lack of a healthy diet it can lead to a short career, no bueno. We NEED YOU to live life to the FULLEST, to share your gift, the talent you harness. MUSIC IS MEDICINE is what I always say.
