This being my 2nd time attending this long running event which has also been in N.Y.C , Playa De Carmen’s Mi Casa in Mexico and Miami WMC did not disappoint. Oscar P is my friend and colleague. I had some time before the event started to “spit-ball” with him on his recent migration from his hometown in N.Y.C to San Diego in the West Coast. The move was a no-brainer for him and his lovely wife Jessica P. If anyone knows Oscar he has always been ahead of the game whether it’s his Open Bar Music events world wide or his musical creations that have made their way into the industry’s Top Djs sets. Countless remixes and collaborations with Djs/Producers from around the world are also on his extensive resume. Oscar P. feels the move was at the right time and he has acclimated to his new digs without missing a beat even though Latin cuisine from the East Coast is lacking in San Diego but that’s not a deal breaker. The state of the music scene in N.Y.C has reached a plateau in the House Music community and that might have been one of the reasons he relocated to the West Coast, but for now I’m just quoting myself. This was Oscar’s first time playing for this event in Boston and the crowd welcomed him with open arms and dancing feet. I’m sure he gained some new fans after last night.

Adam Gibbons set the night off with some bangers including the debut of his track that will be released later this month and trust me it was Fyah! I can’t wait for it. Although I’ve only had the pleasure of hearing him once before I knew he was the real deal and he loves what he does because it showed in his set last night. Adam has had many guest Djs come thru for his Uhuru Afrika event including Black Coffee but next month’s event on Dec. 12th, his birth month, he will man the decks all night…What a treat!

Until the next post,

Blessings, Shaman.
